The Gaulstown Dolmen is a megalithic monument located in County Meath, Ireland.

The Gaulstown Dolmen is a megalithic monument located in County Meath, Ireland. It is also known as the “Gaulstown Portal Tomb” or “Gaulstown Portal Dolmen”. The tomb dates back to the Neolithic period and is estimated to be around 4,000-5,000 years old.

The monument consists of two large upright stones, or portal stones, that support a massive capstone or roof stone, creating a chamber or passage. The chamber is oriented east-west, with the portal stones facing east towards the rising sun. The capstone measures over 3 meters in length and weighs over 10 tons. The tomb is surrounded by a circular mound of earth and stones, which would have originally covered the chamber and capstone.

The Gaulstown Portal Tomb is considered to be one of the finest examples of a portal tomb in Ireland. It is located in a field near the village of Tullyallen and is accessible to the public.
