Groß Raden was a Slavic settlement that existed at the turn of the 9th and 10th centuries near Sternberg and Behren-Lübchin in Mecklenburg. An important Slavic shrine stood on an island connected to the settlement by a bridge. The island with the temple probably also served as a refuge.
The site was archaeologically examined by Ewald Schuldt in the years 1974 - 1983, and today the reconstructed form of the original housing estate and the museum stands on this site.
