Spir Mountain Cairns

The Spir Mountain Cairns are a series of ancient burial mounds located in central Sweden. The mounds date back to the Bronze Age, and were constructed between 1500 and 500 BCE.

The Spir Mountain Cairns are located on a hilltop near the town of Falun, and are visible from a great distance. There are around 40 mounds in total, varying in size from a few meters to over 20 meters in diameter. The mounds were constructed using soil and stones, and were often surrounded by smaller stones or timber posts.

Archaeological excavations of the Spir Mountain Cairns have revealed the remains of several individuals, as well as a range of grave goods including bronze objects, pottery, and jewelry. These artifacts provide valuable insights into the material culture and burial practices of the Bronze Age people who lived in the region.
