The world tree in Gödöllő is a modern-day monument in the Hungarian town of Gödöllő. It is one of the few material expressions of the Hungarian native faith (Ősmagyar Vallás).
The Hungarian neopagan movement is very diverse, and the Hungarian native faith is not easily classified under a bigger ethnic group like Slavic or Germanic. Our classification of this monument under the “Finnish paganism” category should be seen as an indication of Hungarians as part of the wider Finno-Uguric people. This is not an ideal classification, but the small size of the specific Hungarian pagan expressions does not justify adding it as a seperate category at this time.
