The Wotanstein, also known as ‘Wodanstein’ or earlier as ‘Malstein’, is a small menhir located close to the village of Maden, in Hesse, Germany.
The menhir is located at the south-west corner of the village of Maden, at an altitude between the streams of the Goldbach to the east and Henkelborn to the west.
The stone is 2.12 m high, 1.2 m wide and 0.55 m thick. Excavations during the Seven Years’ War discovered the stone is as deep underground as it is high above the ground.
