In the French town of Bourg-Saint-Andéol one can find this bas-relief of Mithras, which was once part of a Mithraeum.

It is likely that this site was at one point an actual Mithraeum. Today, all that remains is a bas-relief carved into the rock. The rock carving dates back tot he 3rd century CE and is located in Bourg-Saint-Andéol, France.

In 1880 the site was set to be demolished, as it was in the way of a planned railway. A local priest, named Paradis, was strongly opposed to this and made sure the site was preserved.
