Menhir of Heyd

The Menhir of Heyd, also known as Pierre Lejeune, Menhir van Tour or Pierre de Tour is a menhir near Heyd in the municipality of Durbuy in the Belgian province of Luxembourg.

The Menhir of Heyd, also known as Pierre Lejeune, Menhir van Tour or Pierre de Tour is a menhir near Heyd in the municipality of Durbuy in the Belgian province of Luxembourg.

The menhir is located about two kilometres northwest of the village, about 1.4 kilometres northeast of the hamlet of Tour and about four kilometres north of Wéris. In the area, in and around the valley in which Wéris is located, there are two dolmens and a number of other menhirs. The different megaliths in the area would form different alignments with each other that are parallel to each other.

Heyd’s Menhir is part of the main alignment. The menhir stands on the edge of a country road and is located near the Carrière de Heyd granite mine.
