Njörðshof is the fourth Hof or temple of the Asatru Folk Assembly (AFA), a US-based Heathen organization that follows the ancient religion of the Germanic peoples. Njörðr is one of the Norse gods, associated with the sea, sailing, and fishing, among other things, and it one of the main deities in Norse paganism.
The Njörðshof temple was inaugurated in 2018, and it is located in White Springs, Florida. It was built with the help of volunteers from the AFA community and is intended to serve as a place for worship, community gatherings, and cultural events.
The construction of the Njörðshof temple is part of the AFA’s broader efforts to promote the revival and preservation of ancient Germanic religious traditions, which they see as an important part of their cultural heritage. The AFA also operates three other Hofs in the United States, each dedicated to a different deity or group of deities in the Norse pantheon.
