On the western outskirts of Galhausen are the tumuli Schinkel button . These are Celtic graves from the Iron Age , the last visible evidence of the pre-Roman settlement of the Eifel, which are dated to around 750 to 100 BC. The barrows are now protected as cultural monuments and are now lying on a cow meadow behind barbed wire.
