The Viking village Flake (Wikingerdorf Flake) is a fictional town featured in the “Vicky the Viking” series, which includes children’s books, cartoons, and movies. It serves as the home of the main character, Vicky. The town was constructed as a set for the 2008 film “Vicky and the Strong Men” (German: Wickie und die starken Männer), where the picturesque Bavarian Alps provided an excellent substitute for the Norwegian fjords.

In the summers of 2008 and 2010, parts of the films “Vicky the Viking” and “Vicky and the Treasure of the Gods” were filmed at Lake Walchensee by Michael “Bully” Herbig. The community of Kochel am See partially reconstructed the village by Lake Walchensee for the movie, and it is definitely worth a visit.
