Just outside of the Macedonian town of Prilep one can find the remnants of what is believed to be a Mithraeum. Below the castle of Markovi-Kuli, which is on the northwestern edge of Prilep, there is a small grotto with a rocky stone beside the entrance. This was discovered in 1918, and shows the traces of a depiction of Mithras, the dog, and the serpent.
