The Frösö Runestone (Frösöstenen) (J RS1928; 66 $) is Sweden’s northernmost and Jämtland’s only preserved Viking-era runestone.
The stone originally stood on Frösön’s easternmost tip, by Östersundet, opposite today’s Östersund. Due to the new bridge and traffic link that was built between 1969 and 1971, the stone is now placed in front of the county council building about 100 meters from its original location.
