The Mithraeum in the village of Močići is located in a natural cave. This Mithraic cult shrine is dated at the end of the 3rd century. The worship of Mithras, the god of the Sun and the light was brought tot he region by Roman soldiers that were located not far from the shrine. Above the entrance of the cave, carved into the bedrock is the standard depiction found at Mithraea all over Europe: Mithras killing the sacred bull, the symbol of the birth of a new life.
